BananaMarts Pop Up @ KEXP Gathering Space

Catch me this April at KEXP’s Gathering space with Bananamarts! I’ll have fresh stock of cups, trays, bolo ties, and more!

Come listen live to our favorite local radio station, grab a cup of coffee and shop local. From 10AM-3PM on Saturday, April 20th we’re slinging vintage, getting flash tattoos from local queer artists and enjoying local art + artists.

KEXP is accessible at all entrances, with no stairs in the space. There are several major bus routes that stop all around Seattle Center’s grounds and make a short 5-15 minute walk to KEXP. It is also accessible via the Monorail and a 15-30 minute walk from nearby light rail. Surrounding streets hold plentiful street parking. Nearby paid lots and garages include: 5th AVE N Garage, Mercer Street Garage and Theatre Commons ADA Lot. Bathrooms are on-site and public.

Artist Talk @ Kirkland Arts Center

Guest Artist, Anika Major is a Texas-born ceramic artist living in Seattle, Washington. Anika graduated from the University of North Texas, and received her BFA in ceramics and painting. She combines her love of clay and figure painting in her colorful painted pots. The shapes of her pots imitate the lumpiness of the human body, and her surfaces come alive with expressive and flamboyant heroines. Anika’s narratives of romance and queer domestic comforts are informed by her affinity for the pageantry of the rodeo, and the symbolism of the glamorous and feminine cowgirl. Join us in a Free Guest Artist Talk where Anika talks about her beginnings in clay, her inspirations, and her ceramic creations.

Lecture will be held in the KAC Gallery. This artist talk is free and open to the public. Follow @kirklandartscentereducation for more details.

RSVP via Eventbrite.
